In the energy and gas transportation industry, equipment reliability is measured in decades. We recently successfully implemented a project to modernize the support system for a GE Frame 5 gas turbine (MS5002), which has been in operation at our customer’s facility since 1979.
A challenge for many companies is maintaining equipment manufactured in the last century. At the customer’s request, VANCOSTA specialists, together with technical experts from Baker Hughes, identified and selected a fully functional alternative for a unit that was installed on these turbines more than 45 years ago.
This case demonstrates the unique capabilities of our cooperation with global manufacturers:
- Engineering memory: Technical documentation and original drawings for units with specific serial numbers have been stored in the manufacturer’s digitized archives for decades.
- Spare parts availability: Thanks to a deep understanding of the article database, we ensure the supply of up-to-date components that are fully compatible with the technical specifications of equipment even almost half a century ago.
- Investment security: By servicing turbines using original technical data, we guarantee the safety and stability of energy processes for years to come.
For our partners, this successful case is proof that the equipment they operate has a reliable engineering support. Working with VANCOSTA is a guarantee that you will not be left alone with the technical challenges of past years.
